Influencer Pricing 2026: What a Sponsored Post Costs by Platform and Follower Count

Estimated sponsored post prices for 4,216 Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest creators by follower tier, and why over half of Instagram creators above 10K followers should charge below the base rate.

On this page

In short: in 2026 a sponsored Instagram post from a typical micro creator (10,000 to 100,000 followers) is worth roughly $180 to $330, a nano creator (1,000 to 10,000) $25 to $45, and a mid-tier creator (100,000 to 500,000) $1,000 to $1,900. YouTube is priced on views, not subscribers: a typical channel with about 30,000 subscribers gets around 3,200 views per video, which puts a sponsored integration at roughly $55 to $100. Engagement moves the price more than most people expect: across 4,216 creators SocialHipper tracks, over half of Instagram accounts above 10,000 followers have below-average engagement, and only about one in five earns a premium.

Ask five people what an influencer charges and you'll get five answers. Published rate cards are usually based on surveys of a few hundred creators, and quoted "averages" are skewed by celebrities. This guide applies one transparent pricing model to 4,216 real creator accounts, so you can see what typical creators at each size should charge, and how much their engagement should move that number.

How these prices are worked out

These are estimates, not invoices. We apply SocialHipper's pricing model, which is the same one behind the free earnings estimator and every profile's "estimated price per post", to each creator's real follower count and engagement rate:

  • Base rate per 1,000 followers: $10 on Instagram, $4 on Pinterest.
  • YouTube is priced on views instead: about $25 per 1,000 views of the channel's typical video, because a typical video is watched by only about 5 to 14% of a channel's subscribers (see the YouTube benchmarks).
  • Size discount (Instagram and Pinterest): large accounts charge less per follower: 10% off from 100,000 followers, 20% off from 500,000 and 50% off from 1 million.
  • Engagement adjustment: 25% off below the platform's average engagement, the base rate at average, 15% more at "good" and 30% more at "excellent".
  • Range: 30% either side, because format, usage rights and timing move real quotes.

Engagement bands used: Instagram 1% average, 3% good, 6% excellent. YouTube uses the measured 2026 spread of likes plus comments per view: under 1.4% is below average, 3.1% is good (the top quarter) and 4.2% excellent (the top 10%).

Mega (1M+)2632,000,000$6,395 to $11,877$5,844 to $16,358

"Typical" is the median creator in each tier. "Middle 50%" shows the midpoint estimate for creators between the 25th and 75th percentile.

YouTube: estimated price per sponsored video

YouTube prices are worked out from each channel's median views per video (videos published January to October 2026), not its subscriber count.

Subscriber tierChannelsTypical subscribersTypical price per videoMiddle 50% of channels
Micro (10K to 100K)29330,100$55 to $102$32 to $223
Mid-tier (100K to 500K)179214,000$317 to $589$109 to $1,037
Macro (500K to 1M)46723,000$1,519 to $2,821$629 to $6,617
Mega (1M+)2511,900,000$11,327 to $21,035$3,210 to $49,393

The middle-50% ranges are wide because channels of the same size differ up to sixfold in views per video. That's why a YouTube price should start from recent views: ask for the median views of the last 10 to 15 videos. A dedicated video costs more than a 60-second integration in a longer video, often by two to three times. Treat these figures as the integration price.

Pinterest

Pinterest creators charge far less per follower. A typical nano Pinterest creator (about 2,900 followers) is worth around $10 to $25 per Pin, and a typical micro creator (about 22,500 followers) $63 to $117. Fewer brands buy Pinterest posts, so rates are lower and more negotiable.

Engagement decides whether a creator earns a premium

Follower count sets the starting point, but engagement decides whether a creator should charge above or below it. Here's how Instagram creators split across the engagement bands in 2026:

Instagram tierExcellent (6%+): +30%Good (3 to 6%): +15%Average (1 to 3%): base rateBelow average (under 1%): −25%
Nano13%16%36%34%
Micro9%10%26%56%
Mid-tier9%6%27%57%
Macro7%9%26%57%
Mega8%8%28%56%

Above 10,000 followers, more than half of Instagram creators fall below the 1% average, and only 15 to 19% earn a premium. Nano creators do much better: nearly three in ten engage well enough to charge above the base rate. (See the full Instagram engagement benchmarks for 2026.)

On YouTube, measured against the 2026 spread of engagement per view, about a quarter of micro and mid-tier channels reach "good" or better (3.1%+) and about a quarter fall below average (under 1.4%).

What else moves the price

  • Format: Reels and dedicated videos cost more than static posts or Stories; a carousel sits in between.
  • Usage rights: using the creator's content in your own ads costs extra, commonly quoted at 30 to 100% on top of the fee, more for long or exclusive licences.
  • Exclusivity: asking a creator not to work with competitors for a period costs extra.
  • Niche: finance, tech and B2B creators often charge more per follower than lifestyle creators, because their audiences are worth more to advertisers. See our niche guides for game development, martial arts and fitness creators.
  • Bundles and long-term deals: multi-post packages usually come with a 10 to 20% discount per post.

For brands: how to use these numbers

  • Check engagement before you accept a rate card. For an Instagram creator above 10,000 followers, more often than not engagement is below 1%, which justifies a lower price.
  • Nano creators are the cheapest attention. Their engagement is about twice that of larger accounts, at a fraction of the price. If your product suits it, gifting can be cheaper still.
  • Budget for usage rights separately, so you don't overpay for posts you only need once.

For creators: how to price yourself

  • Start from your size and engagement, not someone else's rate card. Check your own estimate with the free earnings estimator.
  • If your engagement is "good" or better for your tier, say so. It puts you in roughly the top fifth of creators your size, and it's the strongest argument for a higher rate.
  • Price usage rights and exclusivity as extras. They're where most creators undercharge.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a micro-influencer charge per post in 2026?

A typical Instagram micro-influencer (about 28,000 followers) is worth roughly $180 to $330 per sponsored post by SocialHipper's estimates, and the middle half of micro creators fall between about $150 and $460. A YouTube micro creator (about 30,000 subscribers, around 3,200 views per video) is worth roughly $55 to $100 per integration, because YouTube is priced on views.

How much do Instagram influencers charge per 1,000 followers?

A common starting point is about $10 per 1,000 followers, adjusted for engagement: up to 30% more for excellent engagement and 25% less for below-average engagement. In this model, accounts over 1 million followers are priced at about half the rate per follower of smaller ones.

How much does a nano influencer charge?

A typical Instagram nano influencer (about 3,400 followers) is worth roughly $25 to $45 per post. Many nano creators also accept free products instead of a fee, especially for a first collaboration.

Is YouTube more expensive than Instagram?

Not at the same audience size. YouTube sponsorships are priced on views, and a typical video is watched by only about 5 to 14% of a channel's subscribers, so a typical channel with about 30,000 subscribers is worth roughly $55 to $100 per integration, against $180 to $330 for an Instagram post from a creator with about 28,000 followers. Channels whose videos reliably get high views charge much more: at about $25 per 1,000 views, a video that gets 20,000 views is worth roughly $350 to $650.

How much should a YouTube sponsorship cost per 1,000 views?

SocialHipper's model uses about $25 per 1,000 views of the channel's typical video, adjusted for engagement per view: 25% less below 1.4%, 15% more from 3.1% and 30% more from 4.2%. Base it on the median views of the last 10 to 15 videos, not the subscriber count.

Why do creators with the same follower count charge different prices?

Engagement, niche, format and usage rights. Engagement is the biggest measurable factor: among Instagram creators with 10,000 to 100,000 followers, 56% have below-average engagement and only 19% have good or excellent engagement, which justifies anything from about 25% below to 30% above the base rate.
